“In line with the encyclicals Laudato si and Fratelli tutti of Pope Francis, we urge you, in the spirit of synodality, to listen to the of the cry of the poor and the cry of the earth by caring for the environment, fighting against climate change and promoting social justice for the needy and the poor”.
This is the call that the African Bishops addressed in their message at the end to their 19th Plenary Assembly hold in Accra (Ghana) from 25 July to 1st August.
The Assembly of the Bishops which focussed also on the Ownership of Secam, the insecurity in Africa and Madagascar, the Church and people in migrant situation and social communication, had a special moment to discuss the synodal process in that continent.
The final message is available in English, French and Portuguese.
