In Aleppo, Syria, six Eastern Catholic churches, with six bishops, share a synod website that offers in Arabic the official documents of the General Secretariat of the Synod and various news about the synod process in Aleppo.
“We walk together on the path of the Church in communion, participation and mission,” says Joseph Shenekji, one of the site’s young editors, who explains that “the site has the blessing of the Aleppo Bishops’ Council, is supervised by Jesuit priest Ghassan Sahoui, secretary of the Aleppo Synod, and is managed by a team of local young editors.”
The coordinators and leaders of this project make the work available to other Arabic-speaking churches: “We hope it will help other Arabic-speaking communities on this blessed journey.
