The reflections that accompany the recitation of “Good morning to Mary” every morning in the Shrine of Pompeii are dedicated to the theme “Mary, woman of the synod”. From Monday to Saturday of the month of May, the month dedicated to Our Lady, a mystery of the Rosary is contemplated, a passage from the Gospel is listened to and meditated upon, while the image of Our Lady is unveiled from the protection that guards it during the night.
The rite is celebrated at 6.30 a.m. The message of this morning prayer is as follows: from the moment you wake up, entrust your whole day and your whole life to Our Lady of Pompei. The work of the Synod, which involved the five parish communities of the Marian City, is also entrusted to Mary.
The Gospel readings and prayer schemes have been collected in a resource booklet, which accompanies the faithful in their reflection with texts by Pope Francis and references to “Lumen Gentium”, “Gaudium et Spes” and the Preparatory Document of the XVI Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops.
