The ‘Gay Emancipation Foundation RK Priest Jan Veldt’ developed large-scale activities for the LGBTQ communities in the Netherlands and especially for his local community in Limmen and Heiloo. These activities consisted of a manifesto, publication in newspapers and reactions of groups of believers around the Synod and the LGBTQ community.
Father Jan Veldt has been very active in supporting all these activities. Father Jan, 88 years old and 62 years a priest, is very active and involved in the church community, especially in supporting and leading the LGBTQ community.
The poster was distributed with a circulation of 3,000 copies, with a request to spread it further. The reaction of the groups of believers emphasises that “gay empowerment in the Church can perhaps be promoted by talking about it as much as possible, in the media and especially in the Church itself”. They also hope “that the people’s conclusions on the Synod, and in particular the views on gay emancipation, will be truly taken into account”.
