Throughout the diocesan phase of the Synod on Synodality, the entire Lasallian Family and the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools (De La Salle) have proceeded according to the criteria and suggestions received, both from the General Secretariat of the Synod and from the Union of Superiors General, developing an intense participation and the most diverse synodal experience.

The De La Salle Family shares the different materials and resources, the fruit of the work done and the testimonies and different reflections, studies and investigations. All this is available in 4 languages at

Spanish, French, English, and Italian.

We were particularly struck by the testimony of Professor César Alberto Alba Zúñiga, in charge of Educational Pastoral Animation and Social Responsibility at the French La Salle Institute in Mexico, who shares his personal experience and vision of the synodal process taking place in communion with Caritas.

Here is how he tells us about his experience: «Reflecting on the road travelled and looking for solutions to continue moving forward together in the midst of the very atypical time that we have been living since 2019, we have promoted our action in collaboration with Caritas of the Diocese of Gomez Palacio, which is an ecclesial structure for the support of the most needy, a mission that has allowed the peculiarity of our local Church to continue its pilgrimage to the communities and peripheries that need it most, in a continuous mission that is nourished by the Gospel, the bread that emerges in our educational communities, and the renewed missionary zeal of our apostolic groups».

This journey has generated and opened «a mission that requires the participation of all of us who are involved in Lasallian educational animation. The best thing that this journey together as a Lasallian Church and evangelical mission has achieved is the sense of community of Caritas, generating a social and Christian responsibility based on the word and discovering corners and areas that we were not able to accompany as a local Church during our confinement».

These synod actions reminded them that it is the Spirit of the Lord that guides them and led them to understand their local church and its history in order to continue walking from commitment to commitment.

They were able to accompany some aspects of these small actions:

– Evangelisation missions in marginalised communities and on the peripheries of the region.

– Apostolates for people attending the diocesan Caritas in Gomez Palacio. – Campaigns on food and health in marginalised communities and in the peripheries of our region.
