We publish the Instrumentum laboris of the Archdiocese of Lima in view of the celebration of their second archdiocesan synodal assembly. The instrumentum is the result of a true synodal work and stems from listening carried out in over 128 parish synodal assemblies between May and August 2023.
The text is structured around the three key words of the Church’s Synod on synodality: communion, participation and mission. The authors chose to begin with the theme of participation, thus opening up a broad reflection on synodal spirituality, which is first and foremost a spirituality of conversion. They then move on to the theme of communion through the conversion of relationships between members of the ecclesial community. Finally, the theme of mission and then that of the conversion of processes.
The question that animates the entire document is: What Church do we dream of for Lima?
