From April 30 to May 3rd 2026, the Archdiocese of Sydney, guided by our former Council Member, Archbishop Anthony Fisher OP, held a Synod attended by 170 synod members and observers, also of other christian denomination.

Requested by the Fifth Plenary Council of Australia, this synod discussed 18 proposals, as a result of around 500 submissions collected during three regional consultations held in the Archdiocese in 2025 which gathered almost 1000 participants.

These 18 proposals were then discussed during the four-day meeting.
