Philippines – 26 Marian National Shrines and Minor Basilicas are joining the marian prayer

The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines is fully engaged to promote the participation in the Marian Moment of Prayer for the Synodal Process on May 31, 2023, Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

They informed that 26 Marian National Shrines and Minor Basilicas will simultaneously lead this prayer and activity in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary towards the Synodal Assembly. This momentous occasion will be spearheaded by the International Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage, in the Diocese of Antipolo.

The participation of these prominent Marian Shrines and Minor Basilicas symbolizes the deep devotion of Philippines faithful to the Blessed Virgin Mary and their desire to seek her intercession and guidance throughout the Synodal Process. It is a testament to the unwavering faith of the Philippine Church and our commitment to active engagement towards a more Synodal Church.

The Philippine Church is prepared to contribute its insights, experiences, and prayers, as we collectively discern the path forward for the Church.

 

The activities on that day will be from 4 o’clock in the afternoon to 7 o’clock in the evening in our local time. There will be a procession, catechesis, praying of the Holy Rosary and Celebration of the Holy Mass for the Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  

Attached to this posts are the Liturgical Resources of the Marian Moment of Prayer to be used by the Marian Shrines and Minor Basilicas in the Philippines that will enhance the Marian prayer experience for our participants. A special Media Guidelines has been also prepared to help the communication on that prayer initiative.
