A Message of Synodality from African Bishops

Africa
Format: Videos / Audio
Type: Consultation Method, Synod Events
Organisation: Religious Congregation

During the diocesan synodal phase, Bishops initiate the consultation process of listening to the People of God so as to promote deeper communion and fuller participation in fulfilling the Church’s mission. To enrich our “journeying together” as the pilgrim and missionary People of God, the African Synodality Initiative is providing resources that will enable the local churches in Africa to engage fruitfully and constructively in this synodal process. In this edition, three African Bishops share their experiences of leading the synodal process in their dioceses.

The African Synodality Initiative (ASI) is a partnership between the Jesuit Conference of Africa and Madagascar (JCAM) and the Association of Member Episcopal Conferences in Eastern Africa (AMECEA). The goal of ASI is to provide resources that will enable the local churches in Africa to engage fruitfully and constructively in the ongoing synodal process.
